Hello! I would love any and all input on a business name!

I work as a consultant with new businesses and existing freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners (average of 0-20 employees) to develop and execute their branding and marketing strategy. While I have clients from many industries my largest segment tends to be freelance photographers, graphic designers, and writers, and small businesses like coffee shops and local restaurants for example. Several years out I would like to have a few employees in house, right now I refer out to other freelancers that offer services that my clients need.

My goal with each client is grasp who they are and what their business goals are and then develop a workable plan for execution as many of them are incredible at what they do but have no idea how to brand themselves or bring in clients.

While I’m good at what I do I’m finding that I have absolutely no gift at coming up with names!

I would like a name that is relatively short and preferable ends in a strong consonant. Professional but not corporate sounding. Once of my big selling points is that I’m very eco-friendly (ie, marketing pieces are on recycled paper with eco-friendly inks, digital instead of printed records, we compost all paper waste, percentage of profit donated to different non-profits or charities every month, just a few examples) and while not necessarily a deal breaker a name that has an earth connection would be a positive.

While I love the sound I would like to stay away from marketing industry buzzwords like ‘integrate’ and ‘elevate’. One of my favorite names which is already in use is ‘Taproot’ to give you an example. A name that is easily spelled is also important. I would also be open to names that are more abstract.

My In-law’s own a clothing factory in the Phillippines where they manufacture children’s clothing. It is our hope to start putting our own label on this clothing and having it shipped to us so that we may put up our own retail clothing store. My In-laws are willing to fund the operation so long as I give them a business plan. I don’t know the first thing about starting a business, or import laws dealing with clothing. If someone could get me a checklist or someone who would be willing to assist, I would be grateful.

I am planning to start my own small retail store in or near Glendale CA. I am thinking about opening a type of dressup/makeover store for kids where they can come and play dressup, have makeovers and even purchase costumes. The type of place that will also have birthday parties etc…Mostly geared towards girls 10 and under. My dad is planning on helping me to start this business and he thinks that that it will cost about -60k to get started. I want to start a business plan….I know what I want to do…I just don’t know yet how to do it or how much it will cost to start and would like opinions from others who know a bit about small retail stores and starting them. Big plans after school

Where do I see myself in life after high school? What career do I want when I grow up? How will I get there? These are questions I ask myself every time I go up another grade. Right before I know it, I will be out on my own trying to make something of myself. And boy, do I have big plans. I have decided to become a culinary arts chef. Going to collage, opening a café/bakery (plan in the back), writing a cookbook, and creating my own television show are some of the thing I want to do. And yes, I plan on achieving those entire goals. It is never to early for me to get a head start now.

I want to be a chef because, hey, everyone has to eat at some point of time. People are out shopping or up early in the mornings running to work and just need to grab a quick bite to eat. I want to be there to make people happy by cooking their food for them. This will make people less late to where they are going and not dig a hole in their wallets. I find cooking great because I can put my artistic values in food.

Every since I was a kid, my biggest dreams where to go to Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas, Nevada, and still today I am striving to get there. I want to major in bakery and culinary arts management. I think this school is right for me because, they have classes for everything I want to do. For example: Cuisine, wine courses, business management, and best of all pastries. What I have to do now to get there is, keep my grades up in high school; turning all my papers in on time and studying hard, get an idea of certain foods by doing research on them, and my favorite part: tasting food.

I have this big vision of me owning my own café and bakery. I have even come up with its name: Café Payne. I see myself with this two story bakery. Downstairs will be a café where everyone is welcome to sit in and enjoy a cup or two of coffee. My unique menu will include a fill it yourself menu. Customers will be able to pick a pastry and fill it with there favorite fillings. Upstairs is the bakery. I want to make cake and Danishes for special occasion like weddings, parties, big event, and gatherings.

One of my major uses for a laptop is to keep up with all my recipes and ideas. I spent a lot of time recording my recipes on pieces of paper and they all ended up damaged or lost. Starting now on coming up with my own recipes give me a head start on my café. Also, I want my own television show where I can show everyone how I make my delicious plates. Having people tuning in on my show will make me fell like I am doing something good in the kitchen.

I can’t wait to start my big plans. Mostly, having my café and bakery will really make me blissful. But for right now my mind is centered on making it to collage. In conclusion, being a chef is one of my major goals and I want to be known for that. Make sure you look out for Cooking with Payne and Soul on your television and Café Payne on your block.
